Dreaming of Santorini

As I sit indoors trying to escape the thought of leaving the house into -4 degrees, all I can think about is my most recent holiday to a stunning Greek island. Also known as the place-to-be for beautiful images and a romantic setting.

Santorini is simply the most attractive place I have visited to date. It's steep hills and rolling scenery of blue domed roofs needs not to disguise how pretty it is. The hidden beauties however are exactly what made my holiday so special.
Visiting with my boyfriend Luke, we found a sweet little apartment at Anna's Apartments resort which is literally a stone's throw from the airport (and the runway!) so we were fully aware it wasn't going to be quiet 100% of the time, which in all honesty does not bother me in the slightest as flights arrived/took off about 5-10 times a day and we were so busy we didn't even notice.

We hired a quad bike to whizz around the island, getting from one side to the other in 45 minutes blew my mind!

Santorini looked beautiful from all parts of the island, it's black sand was something to get used to and the rundown areas are hard to ignore but it is no surprise why it is so popular. The close runway was actually a sight to behold one evening when we were making our way into town for some cocktails when a flight was coming into land and we had our own Toy Story moment with the plane swooping only about 10 meters above our heads nearby building!

My favourite evening was spent at an Open Air Cinema, watching Pride. The film quickly became one of my all time favourites and the atmosphere was something I will never forget.

Anyone that has been to Santorini will tell you that you HAVE to go to Oia and see the sunset, (even if you do sit there for 2 hours to secure a spot). We happened to arrive in the middle of a free running event sponsored by Red Bull so the small windy streets were impossible to manoeuvre around and we managed to find a spot on some steps to watch the wonder.

The island is so small you could cram all of the things to do in one week, however if you don't, its an excuse to go back!

Where is the most beautiful place you have been on holiday?

Winchester

It is now less than a month until I move into my house with my university housemates in Winchester and I could not be more ready or excited!

With everything happening in my personal life, this really hasn't come at a more perfect time!

The town itself is full of beautiful achitechture and unbeknown to me (until 30 seconds ago when I researched it!) Winchester Cathedral was built in 1079 and let me tell you, it is a sight to behold. I visited the Winchester Christmas Market back in December and just happened to stroll in. By the time I came out, my adventure apetite was full and I was dizzy with the beauty of it!

So after the excitement (and realisation) bit me on the bum that move in day was fast approaching my Mum and I went into overdrive looking at bed spreads, mirrors and furniture.

And social media only encourages my ideas! Pinterest has become my go-to best friend for stunning attic room (YES I HAVE AN ATTIC ROOM!!!!) inspiration and my new House board is the cosiest I've seen yet!.

And I do plan to go OTT with fairy lights, blankets and cushions!

Do you reccommend any other sites I can use for inspiration?

Got the blues?

I cannot explain the solace that I get from writing on this blog!

So whilst dreaming of my holiday fast approaching (6 days- ahhh!), looking for sun-appropriate clothes is no longer a chore.

I am beginning to try (and fall in love with) bralets and strappy tops so my theme for this post is only going to aid that.

This beautiful bralet from boohoo takes a whole different approach to florals, using the elegant spaced-out print makes it easier to look at and not too busy. Paired with a staple pair of white jeans from Topshop, you can't go wrong!

I picked up on the blue and used this to accessorise with this amazing Forever 21 beaded bib necklace. Which works well with the gold Nasty Gal bangle set and the gold midi rings from shopbop.com.

The sweet Jigsaw clutch is a simple addition when in comparison with my all-time-favourite shoes from Missguided that I WILL be buying tonight!

What is your favourite colour theme this season?

My Sorry Explanation

Soooo it's been a bit too long since I've blogged ANYTHING - sorry :(

Truth is, I've had a particularly outrageously hectic few months and it's been overwhelming at times so to even think about a blog post idea was far-fetched.

I do, however, want to keep you up to date. When I begun this blog, I honestly thought I'd be mocked by my friends, truth is, I have never had so much support and compliments for something I have done and coming from people I love that is the best feeling.

On the subject of support, it would be unfair to say that I haven't entirely relied on it heavily in my blogging absence. It would be fair to say however, that I have had enough drama in the past 3 months to last me a lifetime.

BUT
I don't wish to moan and it could certainly be worse (if it were not for the support) so I want to dedicate this entire blog to my friends, family and those of you I have not met but are interested in my writing anyway!

So thank you for your patience, and I owe it to you to make my blogging a regular appearance in your lives!

(One day you'll be sick of me!)

:)
